THE Bulletin recently reported that, while the price of petrol was hitting new highs, there were still two petrol stations in the Balearics where unleaded cost under one euro per litre. Not any more. The Ministry for Commerce, Industry and Tourism released fresh data yesterday which confirmed that consumers are not going to find unleaded for under one euro per litre anywhere in the Balearics. The average price of a litre of unleaded 95 in the Balearics is 1.025 euros although some service stations are supplying it at 1.045 euros a litre. However, despite complaints from consumers about the price of fuel in the Balearics, it is not the most expensive in Spain.
In fact, the Balearics is 16th on the list.
The average price of unleaded 98 in the Balearics is 1.134 euros per litre, slightly higher than the national average.
