PALMA
AN exhibition of work by the young budding Majorcan artists Rocio Mena Cañellas, alias ROX, will open in her home town of Can Picafort today.
Cañellas says that she has always had a great passion for painting since she was a little girl growing up on the island and being educated at Queen's College in Palma. But it was not until she went to study business, maths, French, German and art A levels in England, firstly at Christchurch Hospital School in Horsham and then International Business with German at Warwick University, that she serially began to paint.

She first attended different art classes at the Joan Miró Foundation and has exhibited in the Claustro de Sant Antoniet, La Misericordia and El Circulo de Bellast Artes in the capital and now, an extensive exhibition of her work inspired by Pollock, Tapies, Kadinsky and the great late Miró himself, opens in her home town.

Unfortunately, ROX will not be present at the opening, She is currently studying at the Students Art League in New York.
However, her absence will take nothing away from her paintings through which she recounts her daily life, experiences and feelings.
