THE Council of Majorca will distribute 2'000 copies of the book “Medieval Majorca”, which gives an insight into the Majorca of Medieval times, to try to strengthen cultural tourism. The publishers will also distribute a similiar numbers to places such as castles, towers and other places in Palma and other towns.
Josep Maria March, the editor of the work, was speaking yesterday and said “Medieval Majorca” highlights the characteristics and the history of places which “many times pass unnoticed”. He said, because of this, it is necessary to develop routes and itineraries related to this era, such as churches, monuments, buildings, walls, streets and art in areas such as Palma, Alcudia, Algaida, Costitx, Llucmajor and Sa Pobla. The book, which will be sold in libraries for 30 euros, is available in two versions, one in Catalan and English and the other in Castellano and German. Throughout its 196 pages it describes the heritage from the Middle Ages which still remains on Majorca, explaining each route in detail.
