Palma.—Nearly seven months since a freak tornado ripped through Lluc monastery causing serious damage, repair work is about to be completed.
Father Antoni Vallespir confirmed yesterday that all that is left to finish is repairing the roof over the “Acolliment” where outdoor services and events are regularly held.

He said that this final phase should be completed within the next week and at the end of the month, it will stage a mass event to mark the Day of the Family. Over the past seven months, some 2'000 tiles, many sponsored by the general public, have been replaced and the final bill for the repairs is going to come in at around one million euros.
