THE Balearic Minister for Health and Consumer Affairs, Aina Castillo, said yesterday that the national Government should review the financing of the Balearic Health Service because “some deficiencies” exist due to a 25 percent increase in the population during the last four years. The Minister was speaking after the meeting in Madrid between the Balearic Government and the national Ministry of Public Administrations to formalise the financing of the health service, which was approved in the Presidents Conference for 2006 last November. This will mean an extra 100 million euros annually, in addition to 26 million to offset the problems of being islands.
