Palma.—The victim has so far only been identified as 52-year-old Catalina H. and she was found stabbed on the property in Bunyola.
She had apparently been cleaning when she was attacked on the country estate along the Bunyola to Santa Maria road.
According to the Guardia Civil, who are handling the investigation, the attack happened at around 10am which is when the 061 emergency centre received a call reporting that a woman was lying on the floor inside the building, that she was unconscious and bleeding heavily.

Paramedics
Two teams of paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene but, just as they reached the half way point, they received a call from a doctor from Santa Maria at the scene who confirmed that the 52-year-old had tragically died as a result of the multiple stab wounds suffered.

A full investigation has been opened into the stabbing and yesterday, members of the Guardia Civil began searching the property for clues while also questioning neighbours, many of whom were deeply distressed and upset by the news.

The death of Catalina H. is the fourth of its kind in Majorca since the start of this year, making it the bloodiest beginning to the year since 1997.
The first murder was carried out in Arta on Februatry 1 when Juan Bernat was arrested for having allegedly stabbed his wife at their home.
On March 3, Maria Luisa Perun was murdered at her home in Palma.
She had apparently been beaten and then strangled.
After a lengthy investigation, her 18-year-old son was arrested as the prime suspect.
Then, on March 31 at 2pm a Moroccan stabbed his ex Bolivian partner in the bathroom of her home in Palma.
Hospital
The suspect then drank some caustic soda before handing himself over to the National Police.
Since then, he has remained in hospital in a serious condition after having had his stomach and esophagus removed.
Now the Guardia Civil have to resolve this latest apparent murder.
