Palma.—A 75-year-old mother of seven, identified as Maria Goll Gari, died late on Tuesday night, the victim of a hit-and-run incident, according to the Guardia Civil.

The elderly woman was found bleeding and unconscious just metres from her house in calle Antoni Mulet at 11.30pm.
Andratx Local Police, the Guardia Civil and a doctor from the local PAC were quickly on the scene.
Paramedics were also called to the scene and it took them an hour-and-a-half to reanimate the victim and once stabilised, the women was transferred to Son Espases Hospital.

However, she sadly died shortly after being admitted to the hospital at around 3am as a result of the multiple injuries sustained in the accident. Police sources said yesterday that she had suffered multiple injuries.

When they first arrived at the scene, she was lying on her back.
She had an open fracture to her left knee, an open wound to the back of her head, a broken ankle and a fracture to her right leg.
All this is what police suspect that she was the victim of a hit-and-run.
However, now the investigators have to piece together exactly what happened, sources appear to think that she may have been struck down by a small van, and then try and locate the culprit.

House to house inquiries are being carried out but investigators were giving little information away yesterday as the case remains open.
