Palma.—It is understood that while the Duchess of Palma, Princess Cristina awaits the decision on her appeal against being summoned to be questioned about her husband's business activities as part of an investigation into the alleged embezzlement of public funds by a Palma Court, she has instructed her five lawyers to begin preparing her defense.

Apparently, at the start of this week, her legal team asked for copies of all of the court papers and documents relating to the case so they can begin preparing her defense, if she loses her appeal and has to appear in a Palma court.

The Princess, the youngest daughter of the King of Spain, was summoned to appear on April 27 at 10am by Judge Jose Castro, but the Public Prosecutor lodged an appeal on the grounds that no one should be called to be questioned just because the judge has suspicions.

As a result, the Princess will not be appearing in court later this month. Her fate lies in the hands of the Balearic Supreme Court.
In the meantime, Manos Limpios, who are acting as the public accusation in the case against her husband, have officially applied to Judge Castro that the Duke of Palma's passport be seized amidst rumours he had been offered a 7800'000 euros per year job promoting handball in Qatar
