Newsdesk THE La Misericordia cultural centre in Palma is hosting the First Antique and Secondhand Book Fair, which started yesterday and goes on until Sunday April 23, in which between 30 and 40'000 different books will be on display from the eight specialist bookshops, from various Spanish regions, which are taking part in the fair. All types of books, from every era since the invention of the printing press in 1450, can be found in this fair, which was organised by the Council of Majorca's Department for Culture. There is one exhibitor from the island, the Libreria Fiol from Palma. According to the Council of Majorca, the majority of books are from the 20th century, although the oldest work in the fair is “Epigramas de Marcial”, printed in Venice in 1484. The First Antique and Secondhand Book Fair has books which are not part of any publishing house catalogue and out of print editions. In addition to this, it has a large space dedicated to collectors items, with copies of cinema posters, card collections, postcards and other things from the graphic industry.
