Shops can open tomorrow

TOMORROW is one of the eight public holidays on which shops in the Balearics can open.
Most of the department stores and super and hypermarkets will be open (some of the smaller ones only until mid-day), but it is not known how many of the smaller shops will do so. A small number are expected to open but generally speaking, they only open massively near Christmas. The small traders say that they cannot afford to pay staff to stay open longer hours, while the big chains are pressing for Sunday opening throughout the year.
