PALMA
THE Guardia Civil were yesterday holding three people in connection with a mass fight in Alaro on Sunday evening which left two British tourists seriously injured.

According to police sources, some 40 young people were involved with the fight which broke out on Sunday night in the town centre and spilled out into various adjoining streets.

The Guardia Civil were alerted and managed to locate the two British holidaymakers and protect them from the rest of the mob.
However, one of the 27-year-old Britons had already received a blow to the head - which needed nearly ten stitches - and the other had apparently been beaten all over his body. Both were taken to hospital.
