NEWSDESK THE three new bus routes brought into service by Palma's EMT municipal bus company over the past few weeks have proved a major success, according to the city council.

The number 24 which links Son Llatzer with Son Hugo, the number 6 which runs from the Levante industrial estate to Can Valero and the improved number 16 service to Establiments have carried a total of 11'000 passengers since being introduced.

EMT sources said yesterday that the most popular is the number 16 which is handling an average of 7'000 passengers per day.
Three more routes are going to be brought into service over the next few months including the Porto Pi to Parc Bit line and an Arenal service to the airport.
