PALMA
AWARD-WINNING British chef Marc Fosh and his partner in the Fosh Food Group, Rob Bragagnolo, are celebrating their fifth anniversary and to mark this milestone, they are currently transforming the Fosh Food deli and cookery school in calle Blanquerna into a traditional Spanish restaurant.

On the back of the hugely popular and successful Simply Fosh restaurant the group opened over a year ago, the Tasca de Blanquerna is already open for business serving lunch and dinner from Monday to Saturday.

The cookery school and outside catering wing is being moved to a new location and over the coming weeks, the Tasca will take on a new look with its new terrace and typical Spanish menu.

For Marc, the top British chef in Spain, opening a Spanish restaurant is a dream come true.
Having spent six years working as a chef in San Sebastian, an area of Spain considered to be one of the best for food, he has always wanted to serve traditional Spanish food, with an obvious “touch of Fosh”.

From tapas to mains including rice dishes, stews a wide selection of Spanish cheeses and cured hams and domestic wines, Marc and Rob are extremely excited about the new venture which they hope will bring a new aspect to Palma's culinary offerings. “HIP LOCATION” Rob, who like Marc writes a weekly food column for the Bulletin, said; “This hip location now offers a vibrant restaurant serving the best in regional Spanish cuisine. “We want people to come and chill out and enjoy freshly prepared tapas on the relaxed terrace or, opt for a mouthwatering array of specialties from our new A la Carte menu accompanied by a great selection of wine. “Tasca's menu places a strong emphasis on local produce, organic ingredients and sustainability, and in doing so serves authentic Spanish dishes with a sprinkle of Fosh magic.” Those who know Fosh Food, the open plan design is being kept so clients will be able to literally sit in front of the chefs and watch them cook. “At lunch, these are always the first seats to fill up, there's often quite a lot of good banter between the clients and the chefs while they work, it offers a new dimension to the experience,” said Marc.

The Tasca also hosts an after work party evening every Friday with free tapas with every drink and this is also proving very popular.
OPEN FOR DINNER “Some nights, it's three deep at the bar and it's a very eclectic mix of people, “We have Spanish, Britons, Germans and whole host of people and everyone seems to have a really good time,” said Rob. “But, what we're really trying to stress at the moment is that we're open for dinner and with the new terrace out front, it's going to be a great location during the summer,” he added. “Spanish food is really very varied and I felt that there was a gap in the market here in Palma for a restuarant of this kind,” said Marc. “And, just like at Simply Fosh, our primary objective is to provide maximum value for money,” he added.
