THE captains of two ferries that collided at the entrance to the port in Ibiza could face the loss of their licences.
The harbourmaster in Ibiza, Jesús Varela, said that he was opening his sanction proceedings that will take place parallel with the official investigation.

The light collision took place at about 12.45am yesterday as the two ferries, the Carmen del Mar and the Manuel Azaña, were attempting to enter Ibiza port.

After both ships were safely moored, the Port Police checked for damage.
The National Commission for the Investigation of Maritime Accidents is investigating the incident.
Passengers due to sail on the 2.30pm sailing to Denia aboard the Manuel Azaña instead travelled aboard the Illa de Botafoc.
