PALMA
THE Balearics' water reserves are at half their capacity, according to figures collected by the Government at the end of last month and published this week.

Majorca's water reserves are at 53 percentl, according to the report.
In Minorca, the reserves are at 57 percent.
In Ibiza the percentage stands at 63 percent.
The director general in charge of the islands' water reserves, Isidre Cañella, said that the rains of October and November last year had helped the situation in Majorca.

According to the latest figures, Majorca's water supply is 6 percent greater than a year ago, though 2 percent lower than that registered the previous month.

In Minorca, the situation is fairly similar, though with some minor fluctuations.
In Ibiza, the water supply is 20 percent above that of a year ago, though there was a 5 percent decrease last month.
The reservoirs with the greatest supplies are those at Na Burguesa and Manacor, which both have 93 percent capacity.
The lowest are to be found at Almadrava (8 percent) and Marina de Llevant (18 percent).
The latter figure is an improvement on the situation at the reservoir last October when there was only 1 percent capacity.
