RUSSIAN EASTER IN MAJORCA

PEOPLE from Russia and other parts of Eastern Europe living in the Balearics will be celebrating the Easter of the Orthodox Church tomorrow at the Church of the Natividad del Señor in Palma.

A communiqué issued by a delegate for Spain and Portugal on behalf of the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church in Moscow confirmed yesterday that the service will take place at 11pm tomorrow and will last about an hour. A Sunday liturgy will follow.

According to the Russian Orthodox Church, the event is of major importance to Christians who come from the Eastern part of Europe and beyond.
