PALMA
THE Balearics is preparing to help Spain take over the centre of London next month.
From May 25, Regent Street will be hosting “A Taste of Spain”, a two-week celebration of Spanish tourism, food, culture, music and the country's much envied lifestyle.

But, this year, the festival is going to be kicked-off with a Guiness World Record-Breaking attempt for the largest Sevilanas dance on Sunday, May 25.
Regent Street is going to be closed to all traffic as dancers from all over the UK participate in the event which is open to all.
What is more, to help people learn their Sevillana steps, the Spanish Tourist Office has organised a series of free lessons with professional instructors.

Regent Street stores will also be included in this free event bringing ‘interactive' dance demonstrations, food and drink samplings and various giveaways throughout the day. The Regent Street food quarters; Heddon Street and Swallow Street will be serving Spanish delicacies, wine and more to their alfresco diners throughout the two week event. And on the main day a live screening will be shown in Heddon Street with further live music from Andalucia beginning at 4pm to entertain those who wish to continue dancing into the night.

After the main event A Taste of Spain 2008 will last a further two weeks in Regent Street running from Sunday 25 May – Sunday 8 June with various themed events taking place in the stores and restaurants. A fantastic programme of live performances are also planned for Heddon Street and Swallow Street; the Regent Street Food Quarters.
