THE Workers Commission (CCOO) and General Workers Union (UGT) held a general assembly yesterday to discuss plans for approaching May Day (Labour Day) celebrations in Plaza Espanya in Palma. The new CCOO General Secretary, Katiana Vicens, said that the occasion would back the fight against economic globalisation which has encouraged speculation. Vicens said there was a need to re-establish an economic order and stamp out neoliberalism, which in her view has been responsible for the crisis now facing most of the world.
