THE Scottish businessman who bankrolled the LibDems at the last election was yesterday charged for 18 offences, including fraud, theft and perverting the course of justice, by a London court.

Brown was arrested at his Esporles home exactly year ago, on his 40th birthday.
Yesterday was his 41st birthday and he was ordered to remain in custody.
Brown's appearance in court appears to resolve the confusion between the British and Spanish police over his whereabouts.
Earlier this week police sources informed the Bulletin's sister paper Ultima Hora that they were looking for Brown in accordance with a new European arrest warrant issued by City of Westminster magistrates at the end of January. Sources in Palma claimed that Brown has skipped probabtion.

However, Ultima Hora reported yesterday that, while the British police maintain that Brown has remained in custody ever since his extradition to London from Madrid last year, Spanish police, are still searching for the Glaswegian and keeping close tabs on his two houses in Majorca.
