Palma.Mosquitos are driving the population of Sant Jordi on the outskirts of Palma crazy after last week's heavy rain falls left floods everywhere causing the water to stagnate.
Locals are complaining that the mosquito attacks are heavier in the afternoon and that the rise in temperature is not helping at all saying that the smell that comes from the water is also impossible to live with
Council officials, who have already started an awareness campaign against mosquitos, have denied that the water is from their sewage plants but have promised to present the annual plan, that is drawn up around this time every year, for the prevention and control of mosquitoes.
