FROM today to Sunday May 7 the exhibition centre in Palma is hosting the 23rd Boat Show, which this year will increase its exhibition area by 25 percent (nearly 60'000 square metres) to make room for 180 exhibitors and 307 companies from all over the world. According to the Balearic Fairs and Conferences department, who are organising the event together with the Port Authority on the islands, the increase in space for the exhibition is due this year to the increase, by some 500 square metres, in the land area of the fair. The highest number of exhibitors are those selling boats (87), followed by the nautical sector (70).
The boat construction and maintenance sector have 58 exhibitors and the services sector 52. There will be 45 exhibitors from the sector dealing with marine motors and generators and another 30 from the water sports sector. Also present will be exhibitors from the electronics, navigation and communications systems sector (there will be 26 of these), the nautical tourism sector (25 exhibitors), and jet ski companies (8 exhibitors). There will be 7 exhibitors from the marinas, ports and infrastructures sector and 5 official organisations.
At the show, which will be open from 10am to 8pm every day, more than 3'000 makes from all over the world will be exhibited with the aim of showing the latest trends and novelties produced by various shipyards to both the professional visitor and the general public.
