THE 25th anniversary Robert Winsor charity golf tournament came to a close last night, or rather the early hours of this morning, with the charity gala dinner, cabaret and prize giving at the Santa Ponsa Country Club. With Peter Stringfellow as master of ceremonies and Paula Randall headlining the cabaret which, as always, encourages the host of top comedians and performers playing in the golf tournament to join in, all the participants and guests had a ball. The main Stableford event, played yesterday was won by Brian Close and his team of Nick Green, Paul Saunders and Ian Ganney. They scored 80.
Tuesday's Texas Scramble was won by John Lodge and his team of John and Nick Llewellyn and Noel Scully with a score of 55.5
The Ladies' Cup was won by Vivian Close, Brian Close's wife, with a score of 58.
