PALMA
DELEGATES attending the tenth International Robert Graves Conference in Palma this week, spent yesterday afternoon and evening following in the footsteps of the late great poet in Deya where he lived for most of his life and died.

After a special talk by William Graves, Robert Graves's son, literary executor and Director of the Robert Graves Foundation, at the Balearic University, the delegates visited Deya village and the churchyard where Graves is buried before being taken by William on a tour of Ca N'Alluny, Robert Graves's home and its garden.

After the screening of the short film No More Ghosts, written and directed by Mireia O'Prey in 2009, the delegates either walked or caught a mini bus down to Graves's favourite Deya bay where they enjoyed a swim and supper at the Ca's Patrio March restaurant which marked the end of their pilgrimage to Deya.

The conference continues today and tomorrow in Palma with lectures being given by speakers from the USA, Scotland, Israel and Ireland.
