Palma.—ABTA has revealed that Douglas McWilliams, chief executive of the Centre for Economics and Business Research, will be up on stage at the organisation's annual convention in Palma during October 3– 5 speaking on the “new post crisis paradigm.” He will share his insights into the current environment and offer ways in which the travel industry can take advantage of changing trends.
McWilliams is a leading commentator on economic trends, most recently on the eurocrisis and the bailouts in Greece.

Keeping with the trend of changing technology trends, convention updates sent by text will keep delegates up to speed on any programme changes or breaking news. You can register for the alerts, which are provided by Comtec, online.

Finally, attendees have been advised to pack something gold for the first evening of convention, which will feature a ‘golden birthday party' sponsored by Cosmos Holidays.

Hosting the convention could not have come at a better time for Majorca.
ABTA usually holds its conference on the island every ten years but, because of unrest in North Africa and the Middle East, decided to hold it earlier than expected in Palma.

With the island's tourist industry emerging from the recession which has gripped the global business for the past few years, the convention offers the island the perfect chance to showcase its industry and introduce the British holiday market to all the new and exciting things which have been going on on the island.
