Palma.A British man who was stabbed to death outside a Majorcan bar was unlawfully killed, a coroner has ruled.
Gary Vigors, 42, of Dovercourt, Essex, was attacked in Magalluf by Northampton man Thomas Swannell in 2011.
He was jailed for murder in May.
Essex Coroner's Court in Chelmsford heard how Vigors was glassed and repeatedly stabbed in the neck.
Coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray expressed her concern the case had taken so long to come to an inquest.
She added the past two years had been extremely difficult for the family and expressed her sympathies.
Scaffolding company owner Swannell, 46, of Wellingborough Road, Northampton, was in Majorca with a group of 60 supporters and players of Finedon Dolben Cricket Club at the time of the attack. A Palma court heard he stabbed Vigors - a Lloyds Banking Group IT manager - in the neck with a broken bottle, severing his jugular vein.
