THE Balearic Government yesterday approved a new law regulating betting on horseracing and trotting races, extending the Lototrot to five forms and increasing the different categories of prizes. The Government said that the Balearic Consultation Board had reported favourably on the modifications to be introduced, and this will be endorsed by the signature of the Balearic Minister of the Interior. The Lototrot now comes in five forms:
l seven of seven (seventrot)
l five of five (pentatrot)
l quintet (quintrot)
l quartet (quartrot)
l trio (tritrot)
Each of these will have different categories of prizes depending on the number of winners.
The prizes will not be cumulative, and the winner of a higher category will not be able to win in a lower category, they added.
