THE pack of photographers, tv cameras and journalists on stake out outside the luxury hotel where the Rolling Stones are staying did get free sandwiches and drinks yesterday courtesy of the hotel, but that was about all. Keith Moon, Charlie Watts and Keith Richards appear quite content to enjoy the Hotel Mardevall's five star amenities, including spa while Mick Jagger and girlfriend L'Wren Scott are safely tucked away at the singer's castle hideway near Tours in France. The private jet the Rolling Stones's record company has chartered for these few days in fact belongs to Amstrad tycoon Alan Sugar and Jagger is using it to nip around Europe with Scott. The rest of the band in Majorca ahead of next Tuesday's concert in Benidorm, have a luxury yacht on stand by, should they wish to go for a cruise, but for the moment, they are taking things easy.
