NEWSDESK A 400 kilo corpse of a dead shark was hauled ashore in the Port of Andratx yesterday. The dead floating animal was spotted by one of the monitors at the sail training school in the mouth of the port and immediately raised the alarm. Andratx Council environmental officers sailed out to the scene in a Zodiac and set about towing the corpse into port where over 100 people had gathered to watch the spectacle.

The two-metre shark was eventually lifted on to the back of a lorry by a crane and driven away to be examined by biologists to establish the cause of death.
