A 24-year-old British tourist suffered multiple injuries in the early hours of yesterday morning when he fell down a rock face near Punta Ballena in Magalluf. The accident happened just metres away from the Hotel Torrenova and the young Briton was spotted by one of the hotel's security guards.
The British holidaymaker was unconscious and had suffered multiple injuries to his head, arms and legs and was thought to have initially been in a serious condition. The 112 emergency service was alerted and a major rescue operations was mounted in co-operation with the local police, fire service and a team of paramedics. Reaching the injured Briton by land was extremely complicated and a sea rescue was nearly launched. However, he was eventually delicately lifted to safety on a stretcher and taken to Son Dureta hospital where he was said to have been comfortable last night.
