STAFF REPORTER THE vocalist and front man of the legendary rock band Simple Minds, Jim Kerr, was in Majorca yesterday to present his first solo album to the Spanish market and Simple Minds fans. “Lostboy! AKA Jim Kerr” was first released in the UK in May and reached number eight in the Independent Charts. Since then, the solo album has also enjoyed a great deal of success in Germany, Italy, France and Belgium and Kerr hopes that it will be well received here in Spain.

Kerr said that his solo career does not mean the end of Simple Minds, the two projects will run parallel.
Kerr has explained that he had a yearning to create something brand new, something that involved going back to the very beginning.
He has described the sound of “Lostboy! AKA” as “big melodic themes, turbo charged rhythms and guitars that shine”.
Last night, he performed a private concert of his new work at the St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort in Calvia.
