Neighbours take matters into their own hands

Andraitx.—Neighbours in the Port of Andraitx have had enough of the passivity shown by the local council to resolving the noise and street access issues in the area and decided to, not only to write to the local Mayor but to deliver in hand a list of signatures to illustrate their displeasure. They are complainingthat bars and restaurants, particularly in Plaza Patrons Cristino, are abusing their outdoor space, making it difficult for traffic. Live music until the early hours is also a problem. “Everyone is entitled to their night's sleep, and to freely access the public streets in the city. Something must be done urgently so we can all live in harmony,” the letter presented to the Mayor stated.
