The gala ceremony and prize giving is to be held in the Teatro Principal with the President of the Council of Majorca, Maria Salom, the master of ceremonies. Along with the Majorca Daily Bulletin, medals of Honour will also be awarded to the peace activist Joan Carrero, the mental health institute Estel de Llevant with a posthumous award for the former President of the rural Third Age Association, Antoni Niell Florit.

However, the Council of Majorca has been forced to cut back on the celebrations due to budgetary restrictions. This year the traditional mass will not be held at the cathedral nor will the authorities place a bouquet on the tomb of Jaume II.
