THE number of new companies created in the Balearics in July amounted to 321, which is a fall of 9.6 percent in comparison to the same month last year. A total of 11 million euros was lent for this purpose, according to figures released yesterday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
A total of 97 companies increased their capital, two less than in July 2005, with an underwritten capital of 23 million euros.
Also 32 companies closed, the same number as were closed 12 months ago.
Throughout Spain the number of companies created in July was 11'010, which is an increase of 9.1 percent in comparison with the same month last year.
For the forming of these companies, 742 million euros was committed, which is a fall of 23.6 percent in comparison with July 2005, while the average capital committed for the creation of each company was 67'418 euros, which is a fall of 30 percent compared with the same month last year.
