THE Bishop of Majorca, Mgr Jesus Murgui, will today preside over a meeting with the parishioners of the Balearic diocese who attended the 5th World Meeting with Families (EMF) in Valencia in July. Attending the meeting will be the 800 Majorcan pilgrims of all ages who were present when Pope Benedict XVI visited Valencia, according to sources close to the Bishop. The meeting will be held in the Seminary in Palma at 10.30am, during which the different groups taking part will share their experiences of the EMF.
The object is to “take advantage of the impetus” of the EMF and this meeting to “revitalise the pastoral family”, according to the same sources.
Afterwards, at 12.30pm, Mgr Murgui will preside at a service.
The official pilgrimage of the Majorcan diocese to the EMF was headed by Mgr Murgui, who was born in Valencia.
With him were his episcopal council, members of the pastoral family and youth delegations, and media from the Balearic diocese, as well at numerous families.
