SOME 64 percent of Balearic citizens have admitted that they find it difficult to wake up in the morning after the holidays.
This is according to a study carried out by the company Ad Hoc for Philips among more than 1'800 Spanish men and women.
It reveals the secrets of one of the most delicate moments of the day for the majority of people, waking up in the morning.
In general, Spaniards find it very difficult to wake up in the mornings, especially on working days and after the holidays.
The study also revealed that after their holidays most people generally wake up tired and in a bad mood.
However, at the weekends the mood is completely different, as most people wake up active, relaxed and wanting to do things.
The seasons can also have their influence on waking up in the morning.
In Spring and Summer people mainly wake up in a good mood (40 percent), while in Autumn and Winter there is more of a sensation of feeling tired and lacking energy.

The majority of those questioned who said that they wake up sleepy, tired and not wanting to talk were young people.
They find it very difficult to get up in the morning and normally switch off the alarm several times before finally acknowledging that it is morning and time to get up.

After returning to the daily routine after the Summer holidays it is the children (70 percent) and teenagers (73 percent) who have most difficulty waking up in the morning.

In addition to this, the first thing Spaniards like to do on waking up, time permitting, is make love (in the case of men).
However, the majority of women (43 percent) would choose to have a healthy breakfast without any need to rush.
