Jørn Utzon, who designed the famous Sydney Opera House, is having a new book about his life and work launched next month at the Hotel Cas Xorc in Soller.

The Hotel is hosting the event on Tuesday 6 October 5pm - 7pm. Dining in the restaurant is available by reservation where there will be one collective table with the author.

Utzon owned a second home in Majorca and is amongst a string of famous people associated with the island.
The book, entitled Jørn Utzon's Sydney Opera House, was written by German photographer Katarina Stübe in partnership with Jørn's son Jan Utzon. Stübe said she fell in love with the building while photographing it and a series of these photos make up a large part of the book.

Jørn Utzon designed the Opera House after he entered his designs into a competition which was held to choose the architect for the project. His sketches of the distinctive shells caught the attention of the judges who ultimately chose him as the winner.
