News Desk THE mobile phone and internet service companies which operate in the Balearic Islands have collected a total of 432 complaints from users so far this year. These complaints were mainly due to common problems, such as deceiving advertising, incorrect bills, deficient service and especially difficulties to get out of service contracts. These statistics were revealed by the Head of the Consumer Affairs department within the Ministry for Health and Consumer Affairs, Jesús Cuartero. In total, 320 complaints were made against telephone and internet operators, whilst the remaining 112 corresponded to problems arising from mobile phone service companies, said Jesús Cuartero. In 2004 the arbitarty centre registered a total of 3'745 complaints for all service sectors. Out of these, 686 correspond to telephone, television and internet services, and 188 to mobile telephones. The Consumer Affairs department recommends that users read their contracts carefully.
