It was  forecast, but it appeared that few people took any notice of the weather warnings yesterday and were trapped by the storm when it hit.

Palma.—Yesterday’s storm had been forecast for the past few days and it formed in the sea to the north of Ibiza before moving across towards Majorca and hitting the island in the Port of Andraitx where 51.5 litres of rainfall was recorded in just 15 minutes causing serious flooding and traffic chaos.
