ALL patients registered on the Balearic national health system have their surgical operations within six months, according to the waiting list (LEQ), which was made public yesterday by the Ministry of Health. The majority of Balearic patients do not have to wait longer than three months for these operations, confirmed the report.
In total, 63.8 percent of patients wait between 0 to 90 days for operations at national health hospitals.

In the third quarter of this year there were a total of 11'828 people on the waiting list, which represents 325 people more than the same time last year. The most frequent operations in national health hospitals are for cataracts, hernias and varicose veins.
In Majorcan hospitals, there are 5'258 patients on the waiting list for Son Dureta, 1'647 at the Manacor Hospital and 2'914 at Son Llatzer Hospital, with 1'052 at Verge del Toro Hospital in Minorca.
