Protest at Can Picafort plan to uproot palm trees

A local residents' lobby in Can Picafort is campaigning against council plans to remove a large number of the palm trees in the town in order to replace them with other species that are less costly to maintain. A lobby spokesman said that members are prepared to look after the trees themselves when the maintenance contract expires.
