THE Balearics had the second highest number of births to foreign mothers, after Gerona, according to figures released yesterday by the National Institute of Statistics.
The report said that 10'925 babies were born in the Balearics last year and 2'631 of them (24.08 per cent) were born to non-Spanish mothers.
The number of marriages which took place in the Balearics last year was 4'309 which included 33 between two men, and nine between two women.
