NOW Christmas is here and children are thinking about the toys which Father Christmas and the Three Kings are going to bring them, it is a good time to visit the Toy Museum in Sa Pobla in the former Can Planes mansion. It is open all week except Mondays, when it is closed. From Tuesday to Saturday it is open from 10am to 2pm and from 4 to 8pm. On Sundays it is open from 10am to 2pm. Both children and adults can see the toys which amused the children of yesteryear in this museum. All types of antique toys can be seen, it is a space dedicated to dreams and magic, housing a large number of toys which will interest youngsters, little children and adults of all ages. Gathered together here are a series of toy collections, such as Ton Boig Clar's, which show the development of the toy during the 19th and 20th Centuries. Christmas and the magic of the Three Kings are also shown in this museum of toys which amused the children of yesteryear. It has 4'000 toys which show the great evolution of toys crafted in many different countries, but above all those from Majorca. This is a great opportunity for all the family to visit and to show the youngest children the toys which were enjoyed many years ago. This is an initiative which is being promoted so that people will not forget the toys of yesteryear. Formerly they were toys, but now they have become art, which demonstrates the colour, the design, the joy and enthusiasm with which toys were crafted in former times. In this museum the toys remind us that in years gone by children didn't need electronic games, while in current times children think that if you can't plug it in, it isn't enjoyable.
