Spain’s largest tourism trade fair, FITUR, opens in Madrid next week and the Balearics are going to use this year’s event to recapture the domestic market.

Palma.—The Balearics is confident that the five day trade fair, which will be opened by the Crown Prince Felipe and his wife Princess Letizia, is going to provide the perfect opportunity for the region to try and revive its domestic tourism market which has been severely curtailed by the recession.
The stand, which has a nautical feel having been inspired by sails, is going to be interactive using the very latest technologies available in the industry while also showing off the region’s gastronomy with a number of the region’s top chefs carrying out a series of show cooking displays.
