Palma.—It is official, Spain welcomed a record 60.4 million foreign tourists last year, according to estimates released by Exceltur, the association for excellence and quality tourist sector, and according to hoteles.com’s hotel price index for 2013, Majorca was the third most popular destination with foreign holiday makers behind Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
Majorca’s popularity was extremely strong in central and Northern European markets, while Barcelona also appealed most to the Russian market.
