Balearics takes on the oil prospectors

Palma.—The most immediate cause for concern is the permission which was granted by the former Spanish Socialist government to the Scottish power firm Cairn Energy to prospect for oil some 50 kilometres off Ibiza.The permission was granted by royal decree and therefore it is going to be extremely hard to over rule.
However, lovers of Ibiza and rich and famous visitors and home owners from across the world, including UNESCO, have given their backing to the ‘Balearics Say No’  to the  oil prospecting campaign
