Spring officially begins this afternoon at 5.57p.m. and will last until 21 June.

However, after a run of glorious weather over the past few weeks, Spring is going to bring some rain and cooler temperatures over the weekend.

Nevertheless, as Spring turns to Summer we can look forward to two eclipses, one of the moon and one of the sun.

Sources at the National Observatory said yesterday that on 15 April the Balearics will get a penumbral view of the lunar eclipse.

This occurs when the moon becomes completely immersed in the penumbral cone of the Earth without touching the umbra.
