Winter flights, or rather the lack of them, was very much the talking point of the winter and it appears that one UK airline has responded to our pleas.

Palma.—eastJet this week launched its Winter 2014 programme, with seats already on sale.
As the situation strands right now, Majorca is going to be served by a daily flight from Gatwick, three flights per week from Stansted, two flights a week from Liverpool and a weekly service from Bristol.
What is more, the word is out and seats from Gatwick, in particular, are already being snapped up at a rate of minutes. Monitoring bookings yesterday, people were booking seats  between Gatwick and Palma within  minutes of each other.
easyJet, which is now the  UK’s largest airline, announced its schedule  for winter 2014 on Wednesday, with 324 routes on sale from the UK to destinations across Europe, Northern Africa, Russia and Iceland.
