Calvia.—Over the weekend there has been plenty of martial arts activity in Calvia’s sports hall. Over 300 competitors and their supporters gathered together for the European Open Karate Championship, 2014. Hosts José L. Gil Cruz of the Shinkai Gym, Santa Ponça, and Neil Pearson, of the Shukokai Karate Club, Isle of Man, United Kingdom, brought together karate enthusiasts from many countries for an exciting three days of competitions.
Adults and children from Spain, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Portugal, the United States, Slovakia, Germany, Sweden and Poland took part in twelve karate disciplines.
