Tension is mounting in the Port of Andraitx as hundreds of cyclists continue to urinate and defecate in public despite claims from the council that it is going to launch a crack down.

Palma.—Last week, Andraitx Council announced that Local Police patrols would be monitoring the hundreds of cyclists who are bused to the area and would fine any of them caught going to the toilet in public.
On the first day, one out of several hundred cyclists was fined 90 euros on the spot but since then, very little has happened.
No signs indicating where public toilets are available have been put up and while two members of the Local Police were on duty in the area on Tuesday, yesterday, there were no police to be seen, despite cyclists going about their business all over the place.
