The SAMU 061 ambulance and emergency service announced yesterday that it is going to be enlarging its fleet of ambulances this summer.

Palma.—Over the past few summers, the pressure on the emergency services across the island has increased significantly and this year, in order to improve the attention it provides to residents and tourists, SAMU 061 will be adding nine new ambulances to its existing fleet.
Eight of the ambulances will be SVB basic support vehicles while the ninth will be a fully equipped vital support unit to respond to serious incidents.
The SAMU061 service is operational 24 hours a day throughout the year and yesterday the government said that the fleet of ambulances has been enlarged in order to cover the needs of floating population over the summer.
